Carrie Okizaki is a founding member and President of Modus Strategic Solutions, Inc.

She is an attorney who has broad experience in consulting owners, developers, design/builders, design professionals, general contractors and subcontractors in all stages of the construction process, including entity formation, contract negotiation and drafting, contract administration, risk management, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. This representation has included ongoing project oversight of multi-year, highly complex construction projects, focusing on risk identification, mitigation, management and quantitative risk assessments.

Since 2005, Carrie has been on multiple independent project oversight teams, providing assurance to internal audit, executive management and boards of directors that the projects were in compliance with the organizations’ governance expectations and goals. She has provided project oversight on the planning and execution of two nuclear refurbishment projects in Canada, valued at $13 billion (CAD) and $15 billion (CAD), and provided consulting advice to several other projects valued between $2 billion and $6 billion

Utilizing her experience of working with project teams of large projects on a day-to-day basis, Carrie has helped clients to evaluate existing risk management, change management and claims processes and procedures or develop new ones aimed at implementing the industry’s best practices in order to control project costs. This has involved performing due diligence on existing procedures and application of lessons learned from prior projects. She has also developed and presented training seminars to project personnel aimed at facilitating effective implementation of such procedures.
