Title & Abstract

Drone Disruption: Staying True to Your Project Control Roots In The Digital Era

Project professionals in the digital era often find themselves surrounded by tools and technology. The dedicated project team must learn to harness these tools to stay competitive. More importantly, project professionals must view these tools as a platform for enhanced project control. Drones qualify as a disruptive technology and are already considered a staple tech on construction sites.

Bian’s drone journey started in 2018, from learning how to take off to driving a successful drone program in the company. Starting out, his primary objective was to capture site progress videos for the client. Eventually, he evolved to Drone Photogrammetry to enhance the Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows. Along the way, we learned that there is value for ‘ProjectControls’ in these drone solutions. And as project professionals, the onus is on us to communicate to the client how exactly drones can help to achieve project objectives.

Join this session to will learn more about drones and how to kickstart a drone program in your company. You will be exposed to practical applications of drone solutions based on real projects. Most importantly, you will learn how drones are ever-relevant to the field of project controls and will continue to remain a staple industry technology.
