Title & Abstract

AI won’t take your job, A Risk Manager with AI will!

AI risk with a human touch

We are now entering a new transformation phase in risk management. With new AI tools in the press, it is easy for risk professionals to feel uneasy as this is the biggest change for many since the standard introduction of quantitative risk analysis as a business-as-usual activity. This presentation demonstrates that AI should not be feared but seen as an additional tool in any risk managers toolkit to enhance and accelerate the projects they support.

This presentation will cover what tools are available and how to practically implement them within the risk management cycle and the interdependencies with other project controls disciplines. Case study application will help demystify the range of tools and demonstrate the AECOM approach. Attendees will leave this session equipped to apply these tools and techniques on their projects with confidence. We will also explore the risks of using new tools and techniques to help provide confidence to discuss these topics at all levels including C Suite level.

Expected takeaways for attendees:

    • Practical methods to embed machine learning and AI tools in day-to-day risk management.
    • Identify skills development areas required to harness the power of AI in the digital transformation of risk.

Recognize potential apprehension towards use of AI and how to discuss the risks and opportunities with stakeholders.
