Title & Abstract

The Art of Communicating the Schedule With BI And BIM

Due to the complexity of the scope of engineering/construction projects, master schedules can have a very large WBS and several thousand activities (5k, 10k, 20k…30k). For this reason, schedule levels are used by different teams to manage the project, traditionally in hundreds of PDF pages.

Discover how the integration of Business Intelligence tools and Building Information Modeling (BIM) is creating a radical change in the traditional way we report project progress and schedule status.

This presentation shows a glimpse into the future of the role of project controllers and planners in conjunction with the role of data analysts.

Join this session to:

  • Understand the importance of the different schedule levels according to AACE Recommended Practice 37R-06.
  • Learn how to extract data from Autodesk and IFC models for use in Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Learn how to create interactive 3D and 4D visualizations for Microsoft Power BI and report your BIM views for dashboards and presentations.
