About
Camelia Bucur has over 20 years of experience in Risk Management, specializing in cost and schedule risk analysis, value improvement, decision analysis and hazard studies. During her career she developed and implemented risk management strategies for numerous capital projects across the Energy, Mining and Metals, and Infrastructure sectors.
She started her career in risk management back in 2002 with Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. where she quickly developed a great passion for this important field. While she started in a support role as Assistant to Chief Risk Officer, through education and training, clear career objectives, great mentors, and strong sense of commitment to the risk management field, she achieved a progressive career path which brought her to her current role of Global Director of Risk Management at Hatch
Camelia is an innovative and transformational leader. She frequently collaborates with Universities across Canada on risk and hazard management research programs, and she is engaged by universities in an adviser capacity on matters related to risk management. Presently she is the Risk Management Adviser to Concordia University’s Centre for Innovation in Construction and Infrastructure Engineering and Management (CICIEM)
Camelia is also an active member of AACE International, currently serving as AACE Toronto Section Director of Women in Project Controls and as a member of the Board of Directors. She is a firm believer that women can strive and bring strength to the field of Project Controls and can be a critical element to the future success of this field.
