About

Les McMullan FAACE, PMP, has over 40 years of experience in project controls and project management on major capital projects in North America and overseas. A graduate of McGill University, he has worked in most major industries including nuclear, pulp and paper, petrochemical, mining and metallurgy, energy, and infrastructure. Les has the perspective of working with both consulting and owner organizations and has held various technical and management positions including VP Project Controls and Risk Management and General Manager of Project Controls. Most recently, he has been Global Director of Project Controls at Hatch for the past 9 years.

Les has had a strong connection to AACE throughout his career. He served as President of the Montreal Section of the AACE International for more than a decade and remains on the Board today, where he works closely with the student committee based out of Concordia University. He has also served on the Board of Directors of AACE International as Regional Director and President of AACE Canada where he was presented the award for the outstanding regional director. He later took on the role of VP North American Regions for AACE International, serving on the BOD for four years.

Les has authored various technical papers on estimating, cost control, forecasting, change management and project controls management and has been a frequent guest lecturer at Concordia University and McGill University as well as at the University of Montreal and others, and often presents at industry symposiums.
